What vaccines are required in order for my pet to stay at Three Oaks?
We require current rabies, bordetella and DHPP vaccinations for all dogs for each of our services. Boarding cats must have current rabies, FVRCP and FeLV vaccinations. Puppies and kittens must be fully vaccinated before visiting Three Oaks. Vaccination records may be emailed to us prior to your reservation, we also accept paper copies. Clients who use Paw Partner may also upload them to their profile. It is recommended that you provide us with vaccination records prior to your reservation.
Can you accommodate pets with special needs?
We are able to accommodate most requests and special needs! Our team has experience with reactive dogs, anxious pets, seniors, puppies and kittens, and pets with special medical and behavioral needs. We will gladly make accommodations to ensure your pet’s comfort and safety; if we feel our facility is not the right fit, we are happy to suggest alternative solutions!
Can I see the facility?
Absolutely! We encourage new clients to tour the facility. We are happy to show you around and answer your questions! Give us a call to schedule a tour!
What should I bring for my pet’s boarding stay?
For dogs, you should plan to bring their leash and collar or harness and any medication they may require. We do recommend bringing their usual food from home; while we do keep a supply of dry food for both dogs and cats, we suggest bringing their normal diet in order to avoid any potential stomach upset. You are welcome to bring any items that will make your pet more comfortable during their stay! Feel free to bring comfort items such as beds, blankets, and toys. You may bring treats or chews, however, we do not give rawhide chews or bones that may pose a choking hazard. We provide bowls for food and water and have slow feeders available; if your pet requires a special feeder, you are welcome to bring it. For our cat guests, plan to bring them in a carrier; we recommend bringing their normal diet as well as any medication they may require. We provide bowls, litter boxes and cat litter.
How do I know daycare is right for my dog? What does the assessment look like?
All new daycare clients are carefully assessed by our knowledgeable daycare counselors to ensure our daycare program is the right fit for them. We will first evaluate your dog’s comfort around staff members – our goal is to build a relationship based off of trust and establish a solid foundation with your pup! If they are comfortable in the company of our staff members, we will proceed to evaluating their response to other dogs! We carefully select a dog to pair your pup with based on size, energy level and play style; our evaluator dogs are known for being respectful players. During this portion of the assessment, we carefully evaluate body language and behavior to ensure everyone’s comfort. We take care during the assessment to go at your pup’s pace – we will never rush them if they are feeling unsure. Once we get a feel for your dog’s play style and preferences, we begin to introduce other dogs and evaluate your dog’s response to group play. If they are comfortable and having fun, they’ve passed their assessment!
We will never push a dog past their comfort level. Not all dogs will enjoy group play, and that’s okay! If daycare doesn’t seem to be your dog’s favorite, we will let you know.
